FAQs

What is Destination Mars?

Destination Mars is an interactive experience where the audience gets to choose their level of interaction. Set on the planet Mars in 2034, audience members sit behind networked computer consoles and work together to launch a giant space rocket and save the planet from an impending disaster.

Why is it relevant?

Space exploration has always captured people’s imagination and with a renewed desire to return to the Moon and travel to Mars audience members are seeking out experiences that can capture that excitement.

How much is it going to cost in terms of effort?

The current show is available to tour with marketing packs, tech riders, a full touring set and creative team ready to travel. A bespoke show can be created and licensed in collaboration with Hackman

What do I need to have as a minimum?

A venue, a marketing team, an audience base and basic technical support.

How would I sell it to my audience?

There is no other show quite like Destination Mars. It’s thrilling and funny and it brings together cutting-edge technologies in ways never seen before. It’s the beginning of an entirely new form of live interactive experience.

Can it make me money?

Yes. Hackman’s newly developed software platform Together© allows for incredible levels of interaction with small personnel requirements. Capacity can be scaled and a 45 minute run time allows for up to 10 shows per day.

What sort of venue does it need?

The show has been designed to fit into non-theatre venues such as gallery spaces, convention halls or outdoor domes. There is a footprint of 20m x 20m with a 6m height requirement but this can be discussed with our design team.

How does the technology work?

Destination Mars uses the Unreal gaming engine to power the networked tablets and interactive projections. A wifi network links the network together and Qlab runs the lighting, sound and gaming systems.
